Sometimes I want to be free

Sometimes I want to be free and retired, but after spending time with elders I know that soon after I’ll want to be rehired.

It’s not about financial freedom in the way you imagine, it’s about mental capacity and great health to depend on.

What you put on the shelf to deal with at some point in the future, is a quick road to dementia or some other dis-ease that will elude you.

Freedom is waking up and knowing that some part of your day will be lovely, at worst some point this week you’ll get to enjoy an evening with your buddy.

But a stack of cash in the bank and no leg to stand on, is a sure path to not having to work but having something to work on.

There is no end to this game so I must find my joy in this moment, the worst thing I can do is treat all my best waking hours as a postponement.
